FIELD NOTE
Integration is won at the interfaces
The greatest delivery risk rarely sits inside one discipline. It appears where intent, data and accountability must move between them without losing meaning.
The interface is part of the design
A technical package can be correct in isolation and still fail the operating outcome. The missing work is often the definition of what passes between disciplines, who accepts it and what evidence closes the decision.
Make ownership visible
An interface register should name the decision, information owner, receiving party, acceptance criterion and timing. This turns integration from a general intention into traceable delivery control.
Measure the handoff, not only the output
Useful evidence includes unresolved interfaces, decision age, rejected handoffs and rework caused by missing context. These signals reveal integration health earlier than a final milestone can.
